What "off patent" means here
A drug goes off patent, in the sense used here, in the year the first US generic or biosimilar can launch. That is usually later than the first patent expiry, because later patents, regulatory exclusivity and litigation settlements can push entry back. Small-molecule drugs go generic; biologics face biosimilars. Each date is sourced on its drug's page.
